Pros:DVI, USB, audio w/2 port usb 2.0 hub switching between 4 PCs. Everything you could want! (well, according to the specs)Cons:Don't believe the pictures or specs! Newegg's pictures show the older model, but Belkin changed to a horizontal layout. Everywhere I read the specs on this model, it says 'Front panel buttons and hotkeys', 'hotkey sequence' or 'Push Buttons/Hot Keys', but hotkeys don't work!
Belkin tech support even says hotkeys are not supported in this model!Overall Review:Belkin is so tantalizingly close with this one. They almost have everything the modern KVM needs. USB 2.0, DVI, Audio, 2-port USB 2.0 hub, 4 PC ports. Its so close to perfection lest for the all important hotkeys. Why Belkin?, Why?
Pros:I have used many of Belkins KVM's and this one is far better than the others. Linux and Windows both find or see the hardware and there is no noticable delay between switching and no noticable Video Annomalies as of yet. Belkin in my view has been the Poor Mans answer to PC switching.Cons:Item didnt match the picture and I was very close to returning it.UPS was no help in getting it to me.
USPS would have been faster.Overall Review:Im not sure whats up with the other 2 guys that ordered this item but they may need to RMA the KVMs. Pros:The KVM stitch is in a different case than the one pictured here or on Belkin's website. Hdd regenerator 1.71 iso version full. The new case is a standard flat 'box' with an open back that allows full access to the ports.Cons:The figures in the manual that come with it are not accurate. The new style also does not allow upgrading of the firmware.I also have a problem with intermittent dropping out of the video signal.
The screen blanks out for about a second maybe once an hour. I am not sure why, but this does not happen when the monitor is attached directly to either PC.There are no keyboard 'hot-keys' for channel switching like the earlier Belkin KVMs.Overall Review:The newer design allows full USB functions (multimedia, etc.) of my keyboard to any of the computers attached.
