Take it to your Local Bike Shop and ask them. If it's carbon, they're probably going to tell you to replace it.Related Links:. The grips are a lock-on, so you'll need a 2.5mm and/or 3mm allen wrench. There's two of those small bolts on each grip, one on the metal collar on the inside (towards brake lever, pointing to the rear of the bike), and one underneath the flattened portion on the outside (at end of grip, pointing down).You don't need to take the grips off, only slide them in about 23cm.
To do this, you'll also need to slide the brake levers and shiters in, which use a 5mm allen wrench. Leave everything loose when installing the bar ends.The adapter is meant to make the end of the handlebar a rounded circle for the bar end, instead of having the cut out for the isozone pad. Simply slide everything in more than you need, plop the adapter in, slide the bar end on, align to the angle you want, and tighten the barend.When re-tightening the grips, be careful not to use too much force, or you'll strip the aluminum collars out.

I believe it says 2nm of torque, which is a feeble amount. You'll want about a 45 degree downward angle to the brake levers, fyi.
